Basketball for Youth/Adults with Special Needs

Registration Dates: August 1-August 31, 2023

(Registration closes at midnight on August 31)

2023 Take On Sports Basketball Season Details: 

Dates/Times:  October 14, 2023 - November 18, 2023 (Saturdays, between 9 a.m.-12 p.m.)

This league runs six weeks.

• A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.

Youth Program:

• Registration Fee: $55 includes T-shirt and trophy

  • A $25 late fee will be assessed on all registrations received after August 31, 2023.

Youth Ages:   

• Must be 5 years of age as of August 1, 2023.  (Eligible through their 22nd birthday)

• Teams are setup according to skills and abilities instead of age. 

• Athletes are paired with Buddy Volunteers.

Buddy Volunteers: 

• No registration fee (will receive free Buddy Volunteer T-shirt)

• Must be 10 years of age as of August 1, 2023.

Adult Program:

• Registration Fee: $55 includes T-shirt and trophy

  • A $25 late fee will be assessed on all registrations received after August 31, 2023.

• Athletes age 23 and up.

• Athletes are paired with Buddy Volunteers.

Buddy Volunteers: 

• No registration fee (will receive free Buddy Volunteer T-shirt)
• Must be 18 years of age or older by August 1, 2023. (Background Check required)

Additional Information:

Athletes:   

• Teams are setup according to skills and abilities instead of age. 

• Athletes are paired with Buddy Volunteers.

Buddy Volunteers: 

• Assist athletes on the field providing instruction and encouragement.

• Buddy Volunteers 18 years of age or older are required to have a Volunteer Background Check.  Information on this process will be provided by the Sports Commissioner.
