 ALL-STARS

Each spring, All-Stars are selected to compete in Little League's International Tournament. The Little League International Tournament is the most widely known youth sports tournament in the world. The tournaments start at the district level and teams must win their way to advance through the tournament. The 8- to 10-Year-Old and 9- to 11-Year-Old tournaments culminate at the state Level. The Little League (Majors), Junior League, and Senior League tournaments all conclude at a World Series featuring teams from around the world.

 COMMITMENT REQUIREMENT

Participating in All-Stars is a choice should your child be selected. While it is a privilege to participate, it is also a commitment with added practices and games. Practices begin immediately following the spring end-of-season championship tournaments and often occur daily leading up to tournament play. Missing a few practices and even a game does not necessarily prevent selection to All-Stars; however missing an entire week takes an opportunity away from another player who could commit to preparing with the team. If you realize that your child has several conflicts during the All-Star tournament schedules, it may be a wise decision to pass on a tournament selection.

 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

Players are eligible for participation in All-Stars provided they meet the criteria established by the Little League Residency and School Attendance Player Eligibility Requirement, meet the league age requirement for the applicable tournament division, and have participated in at least eight regular season games (Senior League: no minimum regular season games required) during the current spring season.  Additionally, parents must agree to have their child included in the pool of players for All-Star consideration, understanding the time commitment required.

 ALL-STAR SELECTIONS

Selection of All-Star Team Managers:
The league commissioner's nominates Team Managers from the eligible divisions of play. Team Managers are not required to have a child selected to a team to be eligible for selection. Final approval of each Team Manager will be made by the All-Star Commissioner.

Selection of All-Star Players:
Regular season Team Managers nominate players from their team for All-Stars. All-Star nominees are voted on for each age division. The top nine vote receivers make the team with the final roster spots being determined by the All-Star Commissioner and Team Manager. The Board of Directors decides if teams can be formed from these results or if tryouts for any specific All-Star team is necessary.

 MANDATORY PLAY

Beginning with the 2023 tournament season, Tournament Rule 9 – Mandatory Play states: All Tournament Teams must adopt a policy of a continuous batting order that will include all players on the team affidavit present at the start of the game, to appear in the batting order. Each player is considered a “starter” and required to bat in his/her respective spot in the batting order.

A continuous batting order requirement applies for all divisions of tournament play except for the Senior Division.

There is no requirement for any tournament player to participate in the game on defense. However, players may be freely entered/re-entered into any defensive position throughout any tournament game regardless of their position in the batting order.
